2-Hour Agile and MAHD Overview
Description
This 2-hour session gives an overview of agile principles and methods, including a walk-through of the Modified Agile for Hardware Development (MAHD) framework. Auxilium consultants Gary Hinkle and Dorian Simpson developed the MAHD framework as a guide for developers of physical, manufactured products to get the benefits of agile methods while considering the challenges unique to hardware-based product development.
A hybrid approach is needed for successful hardware-based product development, blending adequate sequential planning while also enabling agility for efficiently adapting to new information. Though the MAHD framework is a hybrid approach optimized for hardware-based development, it’s important to tailor the elements and determine the best tactics for optimizing speed, product quality, efficiency and resources for your situation.
In this session we focus on agile principles that can enable that optimization when understood and applied with intent toward achievable goals. We also give an overview of various agile and sequential frameworks, emphasizing the key elements of the MAHD framework to consider for your application. A real-world product development example is used to walk through the MAHD framework for visualization of how MAHD can be applied to a project.
